My HFLE CLASS

I have had the great joy of participating in, as part of my general requirements at the USC, a course entitled Health and Family Life Education. This course is a new addition to the primary school curriculum.
What I like best about the class was the method that the teacher took. He allowed the students to prepare the lessons via lesson plans and actually present and teach it to the class. This was done repeatedly. Giving the students in a practical sense the power and concreting and encouraging their own ability to manage a classroom, create and achieve the objectives of the individual lessons and their confidence in front of the class. Some of the topics ranged from masturbating to the environment. These classes prepared or helped to tremendously prepare each and every one in the class to become a teacher in a real way. The other great concept was that the students themselves were the ones evaluating and grading each other. It allowed a fair opinion and arrival at a grade suited to what the real output was and not just reliant on the sole discretion of the teacher.
I also believe that the topics were relevant and necessary to incorporate into the primary curriculum.  Our kids of today are far more exposed and influenced by media today than ever before.

The best way to learn something is to teach it.
